Avril Lavigne Gives MTV The Finger | |

Skater punk wannbe Avril Lavigne recently bit the hand that feeds her by angering MTV execs with a recent stunt on their live ‘TRL’ show. The music network is still smarting over the firestorm ignited by the Super Bowl Halftime show they produced in which Janet Jackson bared her breast and when ‘TRL’ host Damien Fahey asked the cute young singer what she thought of the incident she didn’t hesistate to throw up the Finger. A livid MTV immediately yanked her scheduled performance and a spokesperson for the net commented, "It's totally inappropriate to make that gesture on the air. It's a little disrespectful to the audience." Lavigne is known for her obnoxious behavior and rebellious attitude. Earlier this year she ripped down pictures of herself posted at a radio station because she said she “hated” them and has been known to put down her fans for dressing like her. Lavigne, recently told Entertainment Weekly that a lot of her wild behavior in the past was due to excessive partying, but she claims she’s beyond that now. When asked about the MTV incident, her people said, "It wasn't a gesture of defiance. She was laughing." |
